This document is a guide to have the Swiftpos Touch POS Printers beep several times when an order is bumped from the KVS. The printer must have the ability for it to be sent a "Beep" command and have the internal hardware installed for it to beep. Alternatively, external hardware is available to provide a beep via the 2nd cash drawer port.

The number of beeps (or length) is controlled by commands entered in the header. Some printers have the ability to play a tune as well.

You add a "Complete Bump Printer" for each of the Touch POS Printers that you require to beep and set categories you require it to be triggered with.

You will need look up the following commands for your particular pos printer:

Beep the Buzzer or play tune (\1Eh)

Enable/Disable Peripheral equipment (\1E\3D\01h, \1E\3D\01h)

The codes above should work for most ESC/POS printers.

Steps

  1. On each KVS Install a "Generic Text only Printer" and connect it to the printer port of the POS Terminal as needed.
  2. Add a "Complete Bump Printer" in KVS and set categories to trigger on required orders.
  3. Add Printer and make sure NOT GRAPHICAL.
  4. Add new or edit Generic Printer codes as follows:

Custom 1 = \1E                  (Beep)

Custom 2 = \1B\3D\00    (Disable Peripheral Equipment)

Custom 3 = \1B\3D\01    (Enable Peripheral Equipment)

  1. Edit Header as follows:

The number of commands determines the number of beeps.

This example is 5 beeps. Add more or less for your application.

  1. Edit Footer as Follows:
  1. Under Behaviour tab in KVS Settings set print option to "Print Complete Orders"
  2. Repeat steps 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 for each Swiftpos Touch POS Terminal Printer that you require to beep.

Using alternative hardware that uses the second cash drawer port, you may use that to trigger a beep. Substitute the appropriate cash drawer pulse command in Custom1 above.
